📢🔔 Infrastructure news from the Costa del Sol: the Senda Litoral is about to be completed.
Along the coast of the province of Málaga, work continues on the major Senda Litoral de Málaga infrastructure project (coastal route), which aims to create a continuous coastal path for pedestrians and cyclists from Andalusia’s western border to the city of Málaga.
➡️ What’s happening now:
✅ New sections are being prepared for construction or are already under construction in Benalmádena and Fuengirola. About 435 meters of new coastal route are planned, with safe beach access and comfortable crossings.
This is one of the final components of the master plan, whose goal is for the route to be fully walkable and functional along the entire coast.
📊 Project status:
🌍 The route is already available for walking and cycling along approximately 90% of Málaga’s coast. In recent years, 44 sections of the promenade have been completed in 11 municipalities, with a total investment of more than 15 million euros.
📍 When will it be finished?
There is no official date for the full opening, but local authorities emphasize that works are progressing at a good pace. As soon as the final sections are completed, it will be possible to travel the entire Costa del Sol coast on foot or by bike, from Andalusia’s western border to downtown Málaga. 🚴♀️🚴🏼🚴♀️
